The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Illinois was established in 1948. The club was founded by a dedicated group of German Shorthaired Pointer owners and breeders from the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area, with interests in advancing the popularity of this outstanding breed of dog. Ownership of a German Shorthair is not a requirement for membership in the club. The membership of the club always extends a helping hand to new members to make them feel comfortable.
