Member Appreciation Award
Since first becoming a member in 1991 Sharon Fitzpatrick has served over 20 years as a board member. Her first position was as Obedience Chairperson. In that role Sharon got the club approved to hold AKC Obedience Trials with several being held under her stewardship.
Other GSPCI board positions held were Chairperson and/or Secretary of club field trials, hunting tests, conformation shows and obedience trials. Her most recent board positions held were as Secretary and Webmaster. This does not include the countless times she has served as event coordinator and volunteer, including several years as an instructor with the Dog Days of Summer Field Training sessions.
Sharon has also served the club at various public and outdoor shows including Pheasant Fest, as well as AKC events including Meet the Breed. Sharon has served as the official GSPCI representative at national AKC meetings and forums.
Currently Sharon serves as the Conformation Show Chairperson/Secretary, carrying the entire responsibility for our show on her shoulders for the past several years.
Sharon has also represented the breed first as the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America Midwest Director and has just completed several terms as President of the GSPCA.
We are fortunate to have Sharon, and her husband Ron, as members and representatives of our club and the breed. She is selfless, tireless and fortunately for all of us, unable to say no.
