2023 Top Dog Rules 2023 Top Dog Entry Form

The event, held on the West Grounds of the Des Plaines Fish and Wildlife Area, is a fun competition for you and your dog. There are two divisions, 1 hunter or 2 hunters. You do not need a steady-to-shot dog to enter this event! The draw is limited to 10 entries per division. Lunch is included. New this year; quail will be used for the single handler division and pigeons will be used for the two-man division. Training collars are permitted.

 Entry fees:    

  • $50 for one handler, one dog (quail to be used)

  • $50 for two handlers, one dog (pigeons to be used)

 

Please use a separate entry form for each dog/division entered. Be sure to designate whether it is a one hunter or two hunter entry and complete the information for each hunter.

 Refunds cannot be given after the entry deadline closes at 5:00 p.m. on March 7, 2023.

All participants should check in at the grounds by 8:00 AM at which time the running order will be posted. Entries are limited, so please send your form and check in early.  We cannot accept phone, fax, email or incomplete entries.

Blaze orange hats and shirts/vests are required for everyone entering the field including handlers, coaches, judges and spectators.

For more fun team up with a buddy and enter the two-man handler division with each other’s dog. Entries are limited to one run per dog per division.
