Morning Running Order Afternoon Running Order

Welcome to the 2022 GSPCI Spring Hunting Tests!

We expect fantastic weather along with great work from our handlers and their dogs. The running orders for the weekend are attached to this email. The morning test will start with Masters at 8:00 with the afternoon test to follow immediately after lunch.

Please plan to sign in early in case we are running ahead of schedule.

The tests are on the West Grounds of the Des Plaines SFWA (28163 N River Rd, Wilmington, IL 60481)

From I 55 exit on North River Road, then turn right (southwest). Continue past the trap ranges and over the railroad tracks. The test grounds will be on your right, just before Blodgett Road.

A few notes for the weekend:

  • We are running both tests on Saturday, designated as Morning and Afternoon.

  • We are planning on using a continuous course for the master and senior braces. Please ask one of the test officials or judges to clarify any questions you may have prior to the start of your brace.

  • As a courtesy to others please do not air your dogs off-lead anywhere on the hunting test grounds.

  • Pictures from the day will be posted later in the week on the club’s website at www.gspci.org.

  • Sandwiches will be available for lunch. Your support is appreciated.

  • Camping is available on the grounds for $8 per night. Reservations are not required.

  • The running orders and courses may be modified at any time due to entries pulling or advancing to another level, or field conditions. Please allow time to accommodate any last-minute changes.

  • Upon conclusion of the tests on Saturday afternoon, the fields will be available at the test committee’s discretion to GSPCI members and volunteers.

Note to new handlers:

Our tests are sanctioned by the AKC and have specific rules to follow. We suggest that you review the AKC Hunting Tests Rule Book AKC Pointing Dog Hunting Tests Rule Book in order to gain a better understanding of the objectives of a hunting test and the categories that your dogs are being judged on. While the AKC does allow the hunting test committee a degree of latitude to modify braces, it is to be done only to expedite the test and not to accommodate individual handlers, nor should it cause delays to the tests.
